Abruzzo Pizza

We decided to order pizza one night for dinner because we didn't have any time to cook, and it was late, really late (for us for dinner anyway), 900p before we decided to get food.  It probably would have been faster, and cheaper if we got those chain store pizzas, but I've heard so many good things about Abruzzo pizza.  It's a spot where, again, I've been meaning to try for years.  To satisfy my hubby's wanting of meat, and my needing to eat vegetables, we ordered a medium Abruzzo Special Pizza.  This pizza came topped with tomato sauce, cheese, pepperoni, mushrooms, peppers, bacon, and onions.  I guess it's the equivalent of a deluxe pizza.  We also ordered a small greek salad.  When the pizza was brought home, we quickly dove into it.  The crust had a nice chew, probably would have been slightly crispy and chewy if we had eaten it at the restaurant.  But loved the crust anyway (just as good reheated in the toaster oven the next day).  The pizza also had a good amount of toppings too.  For the salad, the ingredients were fresh and was very good size, considering it was a small.

The hubby told me as we were eating, at such a late time of the night, the restaurant was still filled with old Italian men eating and drinking.  Thats definitely a good sign of the good food they serve there.

Himalayan Coffee House

I needed to go pick up some lotion, and I wanted some coffee.  And thats when I remembered (from a super long time ago), that a friend recommended that I check this place out.  And usually if I'm in the area, I beeline it to my favourite coffee house, De Mello Palheta.  What interested me in Himalayan Coffee House were the latte art pictures that I saw on Yelp.  I was super excited to see what kind of fancy latte art I would get!

So for lunch, I ordered a grilled cheese with cheddar and a latte.  The hubby ordered the naan panini with chicken, and a flat white.  When our coffees came, I was disappointed.  We got normal boring old latte art.  Blah.  But at least the coffee tasted good.  Just strong enough for me, without leaving any strong after tastes.  My grilled cheese was disappointing.  It was 2 slices of white bread, with a slice of processed Kraft singles cheese, put in a panini press.  I guess I should have known based on the price of the sandwich.  Super disappointing.  It came with a side of tomato relish/salsa, so that saved it a tiny bit.  Hubby's naan panini was pretty good.  There was chicken in a type of curry mayo sauce, and spinach.
Himalayan Java House Lunch Picks

Come for the coffee, and not so much for their grilled cheese sandwiches.  There were also sweets options, we just didn't try them.  Also, I'm confused whether this is named Himalayan Java House, or Himalayan Coffee House.  Signage says Java, their Facebook page says Coffee.

Busters Sea Cove - Yorkville

I have come to realize I'm horrible at blogging.  I wish I could be like those other bloggers that have the time to blog about a new food or a new restaurant they ate at as soon I get home.  But there's so many other things I need to do!  Fellow bloggers, any tips on how I could find the time to blog sooner?  And when I do get the chance to blog, I blog a whole bunch at once just to catch up.

Yorkville is a horrible location for affordable good eats in my opinion.  Around the Yonge and Bloor area, it's mostly chains.  Within Yorkville, the prices for a meal are sky high for mostly mediocre food at best.  So when I spotted Busters Sea Cover open on Yonge St., I was elated.  One of my favourite seafood spots, in an area I frequent (instead of having to go down to St. Lawrence Market to satisfy my seafood cravings).  I ordered my usual, grilled calamari & salad, hubby ordered fish and chips (I can't remember if it was cod or halibut), and aunt ordered the lobster roll.  Hubby's fish and chips were great as usual.  Crispy batter, and moist fish on the inside.  The lobster roll, my aunt was quite pleased with.  After biting into the roll, she said, wow it's real lobster!  The fries unfortunately were mostly too salty, for both the fish and the lobster roll.  A little to heavy handed with the salt that day I guess.  As much as I love my calamari, I have to say this time, it felt that the calamari wasn't very fresh.  It was also a bit chewier than the norm.  Salad was fresh and tasty.  So I'm not sure if it was an off day for the calamari, or if I would need to still make the trek down to the St. Lawrence Market to satisfy my craving.

Side note, the guy that used to man Buster's down at the Market is now manning the Yorkville spot.
